Strawberries, Wine and Great Conversation
A date night?
Nope!
A myCampmate staff meeting!
A rendezvous at exactly 6:32pm between myCampmate friends (employees) began the brainstorming of an amazing night. With the largest moon behind us and the AC off in the office creating the perfect atmosphere for “hot” yoga, we grabbed our favorite special beverage and treat and launched into the world of outdoors…albeit inside.
Each meeting, we have a tradition to recognize Tyler’s fondness for the Oregon Ducks… I mean award a friend for their outstanding past two weeks. Interestingly enough with UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz and CSUS alumni, we embrace this time to enhance the trophy’s spotlight with our own glamour and amazingness. I guess you could just say we are all hams and live up the moment. This week Gary (IT) bestowed the Duck helmet to Theresa (communications) who dramatically accepted the helmet and promptly displayed it perfectly upon her head and thereby confirming my original statement of our team being “hams”. Theresa received a standing ovation for tripling the blog posts on the myCampmate website and quadrupling the number of people reading the blogs! We were astonished at the growth and again GREAT JOB THERESA!
Eight bodies occupying the same room, when the AC strategically turns off, has a tendency to make people stick to their chairs, but strangely enough increases the brainstorming capability, so much so, that we are considering implementing “Turn Off AC Day”, which was instantly vetoed. Soo…we pulled out the industrial fan instead!
Moving onto department updates we learned:
Social media is kicking butt and has more followers on Twitter than those that they follow. They have also created sales referrals for businesses within the past two weeks on Facebook and Twitter. Pinterest rocked it with new pins and the pictures are awesome!
IT went through over 30 interesting updates for the app and the rollout process!
Sales and marketing have helped make connections between companies and customers while providing valuable content along the way!
Communications has blogged for over 30 businesses and is also writing for over 4 million outdoor people!
After viewing the updates for the website huddled around Tyler’s computer desk, we all frantically trampled back into the conference living room and positioned our glistening faces right up to the fan. Windblown, refreshed, and refueled with beverages and food we launched into round two. Between FunDip candy, strawberries, quiche, and French bread with olive oil dipping sauce, we all appeased our bellies and put the fan on oscillate.
We discussed all the updates in detail and provided a ton of feedback. These huge changes will take the app to the next level! We are excited to get these updates out and available for everyone!! Stay tuned for our next myCampmate meeting blog.
Wait… your company meetings aren’t this much fun?!?
